Zimbabwe: Dar es Salaam Golfer in Pole Position to Win Zimbabwe Open

TANZANIA national team member Angel Eaton overcame barrier to settle in the second place after second round of the Zimbabwe Ladies Open Golf Stroke Play Championship.
Angel, who arrived in Harare on Tuesday night after spending four days travelling by bus from Dar es Salaam, started the tournament promisingly. She carded 78 gross in the day one Friday at the 54 holes event played at the Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club in Zimbabwean capital.
The youngster bounced back to return 76 on day two yesterday to stay in the second place berth trailing by three shots behind the overnight leader going to today final round. She is in a pole position to win her first title in her maiden appearance to the Zimbabwe Open.
The Zimbabwean national team member Loice Chingono told 'Sunday News' from Harare yesterday that Angel is doing fine.
Eaton becomes the first Tanzanian lady to take part in the event, as a result of current good relations between Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Union (ZLGU) and the Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU), according to honorary secretary Anita Siwale.
At last year's Tanzania Ladies Amateur Stroke Play Championship held at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club, Zimbabwe national team player Loice Chingono was among the visiting players.
She finished fourth overall winner in the tournament that Eaton emerged the champion. Angel travelled by bus to Harare due to financial constraints and lack of sponsorship.
